I’ve delved into the research about medical marijuana use in Canada and particularly such that relates to the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations (ACMPR).
Marijuana goes by many names and it’s an herb that humankind has used for thousands of years; it has carried with it many negative connotations for almost as long. However recent studies of the drug have revealed that it has many beneficial side-effects outside of pleasure-seeking. The power of these effects come from the herb’s two primary active ingredients: THC and CBD. These ingredients have been known to help with:
- Neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s,
- Arthritis and pain,
- Metastatic Cancer and side Effects of chemotherapy,
- Some eye disease,
- inflammatory bowel disease,
- seizure disorders,
- sleep and anxiety and even Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD),
- Concussion and stroke and
- Much more.
While the image of the lazy “stoner” with a joint in their hands may come to mind for some, medical-grade cannabis is more often than not vaporized or ingested as oil or in food. The stigma of “weed” is being challenged due to recent political efforts; fueled in part by the positive effects legal cannabis use has had in both clinical trials and based on claims by regular users.
I believe strongly in education and the appropriate, safe use of cannabis for medical purposes. For many patients, obtaining their cannabis legally can present a constellation of obstacles. The ebook I created entitled: Is Medical Marijuana Right For You? addresses the subject of medical cannabis in a comprehensive and easy to read way.
- a brief history of cannabis use,
- what its active ingredients are,
- how it’s commonly used,
- which variety is right for you,
- where you can obtain it,
- important cost, tax and legal considerations and
- which conditions it treats.
For those looking for suggestions on how to manage their chronic pain, please give this book a read and contact me with any questions you may have. You now have a choice.
